TBR Thursday #17: Chain of Gold

Hello lovelies , it’s time for TBR Thursday, which is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @KimberlyFayeReads. This a a weekly meme where you highlight a book from your TBR pile that has been on your TBR for a while, or just need some feedback on that book.

I know this is new to many people’s TBR’s because this just came out, I was just wondering if you have read it already, did you like it? It’s going to be a while until I get the chance to read it, since I currently have four unread Cassandra Clare books currently on my TBR to read first. The thing is I did start reading Lord of Shadows so I could start the process on catching up on Shadowhunter books, and in the first chapter Jace makes an apperance. Of course like an idiot I decided to put if down and start rereading The Mortal Instrument series by picking up City of Bones. Why did I do this? I don’t know but here we are.

Title: Chain of Gold (The Last Hours, #) by Cassandra Clare

Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books

Publication Date: March 3rd, 2020

Length: 624 pages

Synopsis:

Chain of Gold is the first novel in a new trilogy that stars the Shadowhunters of Edwardian London.

Welcome to Edwardian London, a time of electric lights and long shadows, the celebration of artistic beauty and the wild pursuit of pleasure, with demons waiting in the dark. For years there has been peace in the Shadowhunter world. James and Lucie Herondale, children of the famous Will and Tessa, have grown up in an idyll with their loving friends and family, listening to stories of good defeating evil and love conquering all. But everything changes when the Blackthorn and Carstairs families come to London…and so does a remorseless and inescapable plague.

James Herondale longs for a great love, and thinks he has found it in the beautiful, mysterious Grace Blackthorn. Cordelia Carstairs is desperate to become a hero, save her family from ruin, and keep her secret love for James hidden. When disaster strikes the Shadowhunters, James, Cordelia and their friends are plunged into a wild adventure which will reveal dark and incredible powers, and the true cruel price of being a hero…and falling in love.

Are you caught up on Cassandra Clare books, unlike me? Have you read Chain of Gold yet, and if so what did you think?

  1. I’m actually caught up on all the books and just started Chain of Gold. I’m only about 10% in, so can’t tell you much about it but it has a lot of new characters and I’m just trying to keep track of all the names for now 😊😊
