Down the TBR Hole #32: March 20th, 2020

Hello lovelies, it’s time for Down The TBR Hole , which is a meme that is hosted by Lia @Lost in a Story and revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there. It works like this:

⦁ Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.

⦁ Order on ascending date added.

⦁ Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.

⦁ Read the synopses of the books

⦁ Decide: keep it or should it go?

Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Leverseller

I read the first book in this duology only a couple months ago and I really enjoyed it, it was a solid read, and it all left there to be so much more improvement in this one, so I’m completely down to read it when I once again have access to my library.

Verdict: Keep

Restore Me by Taherah Mafi

This one is a little hard for me because I did really enjoy the Shatter Me series when it was just three books years ago. I was a little hesitant when I heard that Taherah Mafi was going to be adding more books, thought I wasn’t happy with the ending of the original trilogy, I don’t think it warranted more books.

Verdict: Toss

Ash Princess by Lauren Sebastian

This sounds like the perfect classic Young Adult Fantasy, and it’s right up my alley. I don’t know when I would get around to this but I’m pushing it up the list, this sounds like a great book, and I need to get to it.

Verdict: Keep

Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosemund Hodge

This one is another one that is difficult for me to decide on, I have never read a Romeo and Juliet retelling before, and usually that would have me completly hooked. I have read a Rosemund Hodge book before and sadly I wasn’t a fan, but I’m willing to give another one of her books a try.

Verdict: Keep

Though this did hold some interest for me when it came out since I heard a decent amount of buzz about it, to be honest this really doesn’t seem like something that I would enjoy, I might be wrong but for now I’m going to say goodbye to it.

Verdict: Keep
